About the speaker

Jonathan Nido, born in 1986 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, is a musician and key figure in the Swiss independent music scene. Since 2019, he has been based in Neuchâtel, where he
continues to be deeply involved in music, both through his own compositions and by supporting various artists and projects that contribute to a thriving and engaged scene.

As the founder and guitarist of Coilguns, Jonathan has developed a project that started as a spontaneous experiment and has since become a reference in alternative and independent music. Following this logic, he founded Humus Records and Humus Publishing, releasing over 170 albums from a variety of Swiss artists. Jonathan also co-founded the Rock Altitude Festival, an event initially created to showcase local and Swiss artists, which later grew to host international headliners while maintaining its independent spirit.

In recognition of his contributions, he received the Prix des Musiques Actuelles from the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds in 2022, highlighting his role in developing and promoting
independent music in Switzerland.

Beyond his work as a composer and musician, Jonathan supports several artists in managing their careers (Baby Volcano, elie zoé, Louis Jucker). He also shares his experience through masterclasses, workshops, and coaching in institutions such as HEMU, M4Music, Sonart, FCMA, and several clubs and cultural programs in Switzerland.

With a career that has taken him on tours across the world (Europe, North America, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, etc.), Jonathan remains, above all, deeply passionate about music and composition. He continues to balance personal creation with collective engagement, helping to build an ecosystem where music remains at the heart of everything.
