John Faherty is the Executive Director of the Mercantile Library and a journalist for 25 years. He shares his thoughts on life after an organ transplant.
About the speaker
John Faherty is the Executive Director of the Mercantile Library, and was journalist for the 25 years prior. He's married to Laura Trujillo and they have 4 kids. He received a pancreas transplant on November 1, 2013. He learned there is no “e” at the end of pancreas a few weeks after that. Then he nearly died with that knowledge, and then he didn’t. Those experiences changed him in ways that he did not anticipate.
