About the speaker
Jo Roca is a Creative Director at Australian Brand Agency, For The People.
Jo is originally from Colombia but now calls Australia home. She believes in the power of design and branding and the integration with technology to influence any business. Jo also believes that design is about impact, not hype. She works with organisations on complex challenges ranging from creative strategy, ideation, concept development, art direction, product launch, experience design and branding.
As a creative director at For The people, Jo is responsible for managing teams and expanding the potential of projects. For The People recently won AGDA Studio of the Year 2019.
Jo is a highly awarded designer and has won D&AD, AGDA and Cannes Gold Lion awards. A Career highlight was working on the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home and realising the impact design can have on not-for-profit organisations.
Recently Jo started her journey into motherhood with a learning curve that sets an unparalleled precedent. Jo says she has developed a soft spot for every working mum, thinking critically about how mums have been put on the sideline for so long and how that has impacted our society.
An exciting new challenge has seen Jo relocate from Sydney to Tasmania to help build the new For The People studio and foster a design culture in Tasmania.
