About the speaker
Jeff Keller’s journey as Buddhist practitioner began in 1994 when he received Tokudo (ordination) with the Shingon sect at the Northern California Koyasan Temple in Sacramento. In 2010, he began formal training for the priesthood with Rev. Reyn Yorio Tsuru and Shingon Shu Hawaii, a 100 year old temple in Honolulu and is now an Associate Minister representing Northern California satellite group under the name Shingon Shu Western Fellowship.
In addition his responsibilities as an Associate Minister, Jeff has managed a diverse roster of musicians from heavy metal/hard rock, to folk, to pop for the past 18 years. Keller is also an accomplished musician having played the bass guitar since the age of 12.
Jeff will be joining us to speak on the theme “Compassion” and helping us find ways to practice patience, compassion and empathy in our everyday lives, even when we don’t feel like it and especially during challenging times.
Jeff lives in Pollock Pines where he’s happily married to his “high school sweetheart” and they have a 13 year old daughter, who is also a musician.
