About the speaker
Jason Hanasik is a filmmaker, artist, and curator. He has a Masters from UC Berkeley, a Masters from California College of the Arts and a BFA Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Purchase College. His work is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Stanford University and RISD, and has been exhibited at galleries and museums worldwide including the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. His films and photographs have been screened at major festivals including IDFA in Amsterdam and has been published in The Guardian, the LA Times, Bloomberg Businessweek and various academic journals.
In 2010, Gap created a position for him called “Storyteller.” He is currently a fellow at SFFILM’s FilmHouse where he is developing a new feature film and a web series.
