part of a series on Movement

About the speaker

Jarrell is a hip hop and spoken word artist who loves San Antonio and loves to invest into the creative culture of the city. Born and raised in a military family with parents who would later respond to the call to ministry, Jarrell grew up with an example of living a life of service for others. Jarrell also fell in love with hip hop at a young age and begin writing his own songs. After high school, he began performing wherever the opportunities would lead him.

Since then, Jarrell has performed for thousands both nationally and internationally. He has written, produced, and recorded four EPs, and one full length album. In 2018, Jarrell and his wife Jeneil started a nonprofit organization called The RISE Movement. RISE exists to reach creatives, involve them in meaningful communities, help creatives study the spiritual, artistic, and business aspects of their craft, and then empower them to be leaders in creative culture. There are currently five artist-led communities in the RISE network. The goal of RISE is to empower a movement of creativity across the nation where artist-led communities use their talents for the glory of God and the good of the city.

Jarrell currently resides in San Antonio. He and his wife Jeneil are the proud parents of three beautiful girls, Nyomi, Liviya, and Adira.
