J Chong (she/her) speaks on moments of daring in her life and her work bringing an authentic Cantonese culinary experience to western North Carolina.
Originally from Toronto, J believes that food is medicine and loves bringing people together. She is famous for her dumplings, which are available at Asheville farmers markets. When she isn’t leading private cooking classes, cooking private dinners, or holding culinary pop-ups, she can be found advocating for LGBTQ+, BIPOC and AAPI people and using her voice to fight for racial justice.
