About the speaker

Hamdan Al-Khatri is an Omani long distance and marathon runner who has a deep passion for this sport. He participated in many races inside and outside the Sultanate, the most notable one was the official UTMB in France. He also competed in the 170 km mountain running challenge in “Oman by UTMB” in 2019 and won second place overall. Hamdan also took on a different challenge which was to break his own record by covering a distance of 150 km in less than 30 hours, "Breaking 30" in the same route of the “Oman by UTMB” race, which he successfully accomplished in 28h 54m. In this sport, Hamdan found the true meaning of pushing self to the limit, and the importance of physical health and encouraging people in Oman to get active. He also learned to appreciate the natural beauty of Oman and the importance of preserving it.
