About the speaker

Greg Whistance-Smith is a scholar and designer based in Edmonton. His work examines how culture is subliminally shaped through design and technology, and how this process can be harnessed for the public good. Greg holds a Masters of Architecture from Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he researched how public buildings embody and communicate values to their inhabitants, particularly public libraries. Interactive digital media (software, websites, video games) are one of his long held interests, as they exhibit many parallels with architecture and have significant expressive potential.
