Giulia will be talking about her journey from an aspiring nurse with a needle phobia, to exhibiting tongues around the world, to working with incredible musicians and how following what makes you say ‘Oooh!’ leads to many more Ooohs!
About the speaker
Giulia Giannini McGauran is a creative director and photographer. After graduating from the VCA she exhibited images of lambs tongues in Rome, Tuscany, Miami and Melbourne before expanding her practice into portraiture. She has since been primarily working within the art and music industries collaborating with various artists to develop concepts and create press artworks and covers. Within this time she has photographed artists such as David Hockney, The Rubens, Meg Mac, Tim Rogers, Alex Lahey, Courtney Barnett, EIlish Gilligan, Cal Wilson, Urthboy and many more. Her covers and images have been in several publications including Interview Mag, Rolling Stone, Frankie, NME, LNWY, as well as on covers of The Music and Focus. She has also continued to work with the VCA, collaborating with students and staff to create vibrant press artworks. Currently completing her Masters in Advertising alongside her work, she focuses on integrating the process of developing brand personality with the creation of the artworks.
