About the speaker

Emilie Baltz is a French-American food designer, photographer and artist who explores consumption. She has trained omnivorously in diverse mediums of storytelling, from Modern Dance to Screenwriting and Industrial Design. Her clients and collaborators have included The Vitra Design Museum; E.M.P.A.C; The Museum of Sex; PRINT Magazine; Limoges Porcelain; the New York Parks Department; MOEN; Women’s Wear Daily; GOOD magazine; Droog; PUMA; Bombay Sapphire; Baccarat; and Columbia University.

She has taught at Pratt Institute and the Vitra Design Museum Boisbuchet workshops in France and is part of the founding faculty for the School of Visual Arts Products of Design MFA.

Her photography has appeared in Apicius Magazine, So Good, Vogue, Wired, New York Times Magazine, Traditional Home and the Financial Times. She is a member of the prestigious culinary association of Les Dames d’Escoffier and is the author of “Junk Foodie”, a gastronomic junk food cookbook for the lowbrow gourmand, and “L.O.V.E. FOODBOOK”, an art cookbook about the relationship between desire and cuisine. She holds a B.A. in Film Studies from Vassar College and an M.I.D. from Pratt Institute.
