Elizabeth Mack

In addition to being an incurable Francophile, Elizabeth is uncommonly passionate about language learning and, specifically, the ability of languages to connect people. In 2012 Elizabeth formed Freestyle Language Center in order to create a language learning community with a fun stress-free model and effective methodology, where using the language in relevant context is key.

In the name of innovative, dynamic language learning, she recently presented "21st Century Language Learning: Interactive and Fun" at SXSWedu, 2014.

She holds a Diplôme Supérieur for French business and has worked in research for the Chambre de Commerce in Grenoble, France and in Marketing for L’Oréal, Paris. In 2007 she earned an MA in 18c. French Literature from the University of Texas and subsequently served for nearly five years as Professor of French at Texas State University. When not busy with Freestyle or her two daughters (her true greatest works in progress), Elizabeth enjoys freelance work in film subtitles, Austin's greenbelt and western swing dancing (despite her two left feet). Mostly, she’s a polyglot ‘wannabe’ - there are such innumerable rewards when one connects to other people in their language. C’est magnifique!
