Deven Wisner discusses how the normalized approach to data can result in corruption and offers insight into a more inclusive and accessible approach to data that can disrupt that corruption..

During Deven’s talk, he addresses the burning question (can data be creative?!) and speaks to ways in which not challenging the normalized way of thinking about data has and continues to lead to corruption across even the most seemingly well-intended settings. In addition to shining a light on the inequities and harm this narrow view of and approach to data can perpetuate, he invites listeners to think about data in a new way — one that is more inclusive, accessible, approachable and actively disrupts patterns, patterns of corruption.
