About the speaker

Chef Rosana Rivera has been a successful entrepreneur and Chef in the Tampa Bay area for over 14 years. She is best known as one-half of the successful team behind Piquant, a French-inspired bakery & cafe, which operated from 2006 to 2018 in South and West Tampa.

She is a rare breed of both culinary artisan and successful entrepreneur. Born at the hem of three generations of Puerto Rican cooks, their love of food and country made an early impression on Rivera.

Over the course of her career Rivera has been featured in Tampa Bay Business Journal, Tampa Bay Metro, Creative Loafing, Tampa Bay Times, and Friends of the James Beard Foundation, winning several awards and business recognitions. Most recently, Chef Rosana competed with Chef Ricardo in Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay, advancing to face Bobby Flay and beating him with her signature beef empanadas. In her spare time, she likes to travel, read, practice yoga, and dream up new culinary business adventures.
