About the speaker
Calvin Pressley is an artist who finds his space in the process of painting, particularly in exploring the interplay of color and surface with mixed media oil paintings. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia, and has exhibited his work nationally to share this passion. Prior to his graduate studies, Calvin honed his skills in oil painting and drawing at the University of Texas in San Antonio and San Antonio College.
Calvin's art practice is characterized by a deep appreciation for the beauty that lies in the details of a painting's surface and texture. He is fascinated by the way color interacts with different surfaces and the unique qualities of each medium in his projects. Through his art, Calvin seeks to share a sense of appreciation for the tangible qualities of a work of art.
