Carina Carlsen, stage name Fifi von Tassel, is a Norwegian burlesque artist with performing experience of over three years. She started doing burlesque in 2013, thinking it would be her little secret. Having no intentions of going on stage as she struggled with body confidence and self image at the time, she eventually turned into Oslo’s Burlesque Diva, while speaking out about her issues. “I used to be a bulimic, and some days I just wanted to die. It’s a bit clique, but burlesque saved me, and today - I use my burlesque to send a body positive message wherever I go.” She holds lectures about body confidence and started the project #BeyondBody, along with Spisefortyrrelsesforeningen, the Norwegian Eating Disorder Association.
