Anthony takes us through his poetic creative process and the importance of investing in future generations of creatives.

About the speaker

Wise investment requires patience and awareness: a vision that combines past knowledge with future aspirations to inform where we’ll put our energy and our heart.

We’re thrilled to have Anthony Anaxagorou as our February speaker. Anthony is a British-born Cypriot poet, fiction writer, essayist, publisher and poetry educator. He’s been widely published and seen, with his work appearing in POETRY, The Poetry Review, BBC Radio 4, ITV, Vice UK, and Channel 4 among others. His second collection After the Formalities published with Penned in the Margins is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation, and was selected as one of The Telegraph’s and The Guardian’s best poetry books of 2019 and shortlisted for the 2019 T.S Eliot Prize.

Anthony will take us through his journey into poetry and his creative process. He will elaborate on his work as artistic director of Out-Spoken, a monthly poetry and music event held at the Southbank Centre, which sees him investing in future generations of creatives. Anthony will inspire us to carve out space for our creative work when it is not there, and his journey will guide us to find ways we might want to invest in ourselves. Join us.
