part of a series on Taboo

About the speaker

Amal Iqbal knows the subject of TABOO well. She’s a female creative entrepreneur, who straddles the complicated worlds of her American identity and Muslim faith. She is a Fashion Designer, an Interior Designer, and a Graphic Designer showcasing her talents as the owner of Studio FIG.

She will join us to talk about not letting Taboo ideals hold you back from your dreams and encourage us all to open a 2-way dialogue to gain better cultural understanding.

Amal Iqbal is a Pakistani- American Muslim multi-disciplinary designer and owner of Studio FIG.

Studio FIG is a design house and life style brand that inspires elegance in everyday life. With elements of modesty, modernity, and sustainability, we merge modern day technology with traditional craftsmanship to create goods in the fields of fashion, interior home decor, and graphic design. 5% of profits from every purchase are donated to fund a scholarship to help female students pursuing degrees in a design field.
