When you lie in your relationships, those relationships become temporary.

Compassion is always a choice, it is always amongst a set of options that we have in any situation.

My compassion doesn't have to be perfect, my compassion has to be intentional, it has to be genuine.

There's this powerful, magical thing that happens when we engage in the spiritual activity of trying to share another's suffering.

What it means to be compassionate is to be bold, and be brave and to actually step into—and shoulder—the burden with another person.

And guess what? Most of your ancestors were farmers.

Intention is the point in your life where you find something that is worth living for.

Teams need to be able to engage in creative abrasion. Creative abrasion means we can have conflict around ideas and how we work together and what we’re going to do together but we’re not having conflict because of personality or identity.

If you want to be creative, you have to be deliberate.

Breathing is automatic but creativity isn’t.

All of those things that society would tell me, out of context, are a hindrance and are a negative thing–are the very things that shape me and make me who I am, and the very things that I would never want to change about myself.

When you live honestly, when you understand where you come from, when you understand who you are, when you are living your life with your passion, and the various purposes that may find yourself in in life, when you are living in that authentic way, you’re giving people the best version of yourself – always.

I believe enough in myself to make it through.

We can change our perspective.

Perfection is crippling.

A lot of times, we put expectations on ourselves that are bigger than what other people expect from us.

When we own our dreams, we owe it to ourselves to push through those nerves and that anxiety to get to the other side.

We can never truly eliminate it [fear]. It always shows up, and we always have to figure out how to conquer it at each moment. Every time we do something new, it comes up in a different way.

Take it like a vacuum cleaner.

We are never going to please everybody but what we can do is to reveal our art.

Not everybody is your customer.

We have to remember that our job is to make the art—not to tell people how to feel about the art that we made. We make it, and we move on.

It’s hard to ask somebody to like your stuff.

There’s a big difference in stepping out onto a stage as someone else – saying someone else’s words – and stepping out onto that stage as yourself, and every word you say is wrapped around your heart.
