About the speaker
Yusuf Ismail is multifaceted creative who founded Unify along with partner Shawqi Hasson to create work which they believed in after being frustrated with a lack of authentic representation in mainstream media for minorities.
With a background in graphic design & photography they created the very first project " My City, My Shirt" which was using Football to tackle themes such as identity & representation.
They are most renown for a large-scale mural that can be found in Butetown affectionately known as the " Butetown Monalisa" which is a based on a photograph from an exhibition of a pregnant African woman in a Cardiff City shirt in a headwrap.
Since then, they have gone to work with global brands such as Adidas, McDonald's & WWE.
