Sunday Jemmott

Sunday Jemmott is an emerging artist and designer based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Play sits at the forefront of their practice, manifesting in vibrant installations of paintings, textiles and sculptures.

She has exhibited widely across the city, including solo exhibitions at Wreckers Artspace and Nextdoor ARI. Most recently she completed the Hope Street Studio Residency and was engaged by Brisbane City Council for the Outdoor Gallery Public Art program. Sunday aims to challenge serious art stereotypes and spread joyful, saturated and sugary aesthetics at every opportunity. They use their work as a tool to spread whimsy, emphasising that the cute and silly are important and valuable.
