we all have our muses, but at the same time we can be or already are muses that inspire the people around us
Victor’s talk is best described by the poem made by him and presented at the beginning of the talk (please keep in mind that some of the lyrical features are lost in translation) a muse is any form of inspiration // which leads us to creation // a muse often stimulates us // and more often fascinates us // it can be a loved one // it can be a book recently read // it can be in the colours of a sunset // it can be an innocent look // some muses appear overnight // others we only hear as whispers // a muse sometimes gives us courage // more muses are a good entourage // each one of us can be a muse // especially if we are not selfish
About the speaker
Victor is an old reader and a young writer, a poet, an idealist with initiative. Currently he is also the curator of TEDxZorilor in Cluj-Napoca.
He felt in love with the world of the books during high school and characters like don Quijote, the Little Prince, Prince Mîșkin or the Short-Sighted Adolescent became his models in life. In 2014 he initiated the campaign BookFace (Cărțile pe Față) through which over 20 activities and projects that encourage people to read more have been implemented in Cluj and other cities from Romania (ex: free public transportation for people who are reading a book, free entrance at the botanical gardens for people who have a book with them, book sharing & exchanging activities, reading clubs in schools, shared libraries for neighbors and many more). His style of writing is focused on spoken word poetry which he considers it to be more human and authentic especially because it is a form of poetry which is specifically written to be recited.
He is a strong believer that we can develop our imagination, creativity and even the ability to innovate if we read at least one hour daily and that the people you meet and the books you choose to read are a constant source of learning and personal development.
