Tony Michiels

Tony Michiels is the co-founder of the recently opened TonTon club, a place to play in the midst of the Amsterdam Entertainment District. At first glance it operates as an arcade, offering a range of video games, air hockey, boardgames and more, aimed to attract visitors to interact with each other in a playful and low-threshold way. Beyond that first glance the TonTon club profiles itself as an incubator for new types of social interaction: it offers a public testing ground for artists and designers to develop and iterate a wide spectrum of experimental games, artistic installations, products, workshops, tours, and more.

Tony Michiels [BE] is trained as an industrial designer at the Design Academy Eindhoven. His inquisitive mind sets out to find the unusual in the usual. He has several years of experience in a multitude of disciplines: industrial design, creative direction, scenography and communication design.
