Graduated with Diploma in Culinary Skills from SHATEC, he had a decade of experience where he started his journey in the Food Service industry at hotels and restaurants as a baker. He is currently pursuing his interest in Food Science.
Currently serving as the Senior Baker at Yellow Ribbon Bakery (YRB), Thurston joined YRB in 2016. He firmly believes in its unique mission as YRB is not just a bakery, but a platform that empowers incarcerated individuals with valuable skills that create pathways for them to contribute to the Food Industry upon release. He takes on the responsibility in guiding inmate bakers in bread and confectionery production and crafting recipes, providing both technical expertise and mentorship.
