About the speaker
Isabelle Cameron is a multidisciplinary fibre artist based in Meanjin. She is known for her outrageous wearable art pieces which showcase her crochet artistry and whimsical mind. Only taking up crochet three years ago she threw herself into creating silhouettes which push the boundaries of what crochet is and perceived to be. She is influenced by drag queens , bratz dolls, pop stars and anything camp or silly. Her work is a way for Isabelle to unmask and explore themes of gender fluidity, mental health and grief through a whimsical lens. Her pieces are a reflection of the happiness she wishes to see and feel in the world.
