About the speaker
Maegan McWade, a queer fashion designer, tailor, and educator, is the founder of Shoppe & Tailor Studios, a queer-owned sewing studio dedicated to inclusive fashion,
skill-building, and community care. Originally launched as a bespoke tailoring shop in 2014, the business transformed in 2020 into a collaborative studio offering workshops, private lessons, and community sewing events.
McWade’s work, both behind the machine and in front of the classroom, centers on slow fashion, body-affirming design, and making the fashion industry more accessible and inclusive.
A past winner of SliceTV’s Stitched!, McWade continues to lead with creativity, compassion, and community at the heart of everything she builds.
