Tara Carlson speaks on her take of our theme, Nomad, in this special Broadway Square Edition of Creative Mornings
Tara Carlson graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Since January 2023, she has been working as a Foster Care Case Manager in the Family Services Division at Cass Human Service Zone, supporting families and children through some of their most challenging moments. She is also in the process of launching a nonprofit called EmpowerHer with her co-founder, Tory Queensley. Their mission is to support parenting mothers who are struggling with addiction by offering a holistic, compassionate approach to recovery that emphasizes long-term healing and stability. Outside of work, Tara is a single mother to a busy and joyful four-year-old son. They enjoy spending time outdoors, crafting, and simply enjoying life together. While she’s not a frequent book reader, she has a deep interest in research and policy—particularly in understanding how systems work and how they can be improved to break down barriers and promote equality for all.
