Talbot is an alchemist who works with buckets instead of chalices, and shovels instead of swords.
Talbot’s work is magical. His architecture focuses on children’s environments like playscapes and music centers. He brings that magical spirit to his home (which he has named “Casa Neverlandia”), complete with 40 different doorbells and alters honoring earth, air, fire, and water. According to Talbot, sometimes making your life more magical is as simple re-arranging what’s around you. “Your imagination is your superpower. You get to decide what kind of world and how much magic you live in.”
About the speaker
Talbot is a South Austin artist specializing in intricate mosaics, beadwork, mixed media installations, and playscapes. But he may be best known for his South Austin home, Casa Neverlandia. Well-travelled and curious, Talbot and his child-like imagination never really "grew up," and we are excited for him to share what he believes makes a space magical.
