About the speaker
Taimur Rehman is known as a Peace activist and has been instrumental in raising his voice in all parts of Pakistan in favour of tolerance and an all-inclusive society. Working as Director Programs with Shaoor Foundation for Education & Awareness, a non-profit in Pakistan and has been very vocal about minority rights, religious extremism and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). Taimur also holds the honour of speaking at The House of Lords where he talked about inter-faith harmony.
With all of this, Taimur who is also widely known and recognized as Qasid (Messenger) has been reviving the lost art-form of Urdu Literature/Poetry narrations since 2011 and has performed at various places in Pakistan and abroad. As a writer, his forte is narrative poetry and is now compiling a book, with English Translations (Braille as well) of his poetry in Urdu.
Taimur also has been recognized and endorsed by Oscar Winner Lyricist, Gulzar and Pakistan’s leading male actor Fawad Khan (Filmfare Award Winner, India), for his contribution and efforts for Urdu Literature/Poetry narrations.
