Steve Glynn

Steve Glynn is the Chief Milwaukee Officer at Experience Milwaukee, where he’s on a mission to celebrate the people, places, and stories that make this city amazing.

He’s a lifelong Milwaukeean who knows what it’s like to start from the ground up. Growing up in a single-parent, low-income household with his father incarcerated his entire life, taught him early on that life doesn’t always come with a built-in network.

When he finally graduated college, Steve realized many of his classmates had professional networks handed to them—he didn’t. So he set out to build his own and help others do the same.

In 2007, he founded Spreenkler, a creative community and networking group that quickly grew into a force for connecting Milwaukee’s creatives, entrepreneurs, and tech talent. Spreenkler helped hundreds of people launch careers, find collaborators, and build confidence before Steve sold the company in 2014.

Today, through Experience Milwaukee’s podcast, events, and storytelling, Steve continues to champion the city he loves—creating spaces for people to connect, shine, and share what makes Milwaukee special.

When he’s not working to make Milwaukee cooler, you can find him on the ice playing hockey, hanging out with his wife and some mix of four kids (ages 6 to 19), exploring the city’s bars where he often works, or proving to anyone who’ll listen that Milwaukee is truly the best city in the world.
