About the speaker

Stacie Boord is the CEO and a featured performer of Columbus' Shadowbox Live, the nation's largest resident theatre company. While she will tell you that she never imagined herself becoming Shadowbox's CEO, her passion for "sharing the joy" of the performing arts made her the ideal choice to lead Shadowbox Live into a new era of growth. As CEO, she was recently recognized as a Top Non-Profit CEO from Business First C-Suite Awards in 2019 and 2020 and a Top Non-Profit Innovator, by City Pulse Columbus in 2019. Recognized for her larger-than-life personality and as a powerhouse rock, blues and musical theatre vocalist, her career spans over three decades. In addition to appearing in over 10,000 Shadowbox Live performances, her work has been critically acclaimed by local and regional critics alike. She was a featured performer Off-Broadway in the production “Evolution”, and in three seasons of the sketch comedy tv show “Wired”. She’s garnered “Best Lead Actress in a Musical" awards for her portrayal of Velma “Chicago”, Princess Tomihime “The Tenshu”, and Dolly “Santa Babies, Holiday Hoopla”. In addition to being one of the troupe’s most popular metaperformers, Boord pioneered all the Fundraising, Community Relations and Education efforts. Within the past 6 years, Stacie has grown the organization’s contributed income from 3% to over 30%. Boord has spearheaded groundbreaking and nationally recognized arts education programs such as STEM Rocks the Box, The Summer Arts Immersion Program, & The Artistic Sign Language Course with Columbus State Community College. As well as heading up Shadowbox Live’s aggressive outreach program that donates over $250,000 each year in tickets and educational services for Columbus’s youth. Stacie is responsible for forming the relationships that have led to Shadowbox Live's hugely successful artistic collaborations, including “The Masque” (Cleveland’s Verb Ballets) "Gallery of Echoes" (Columbus Museum of Art), "Thunder and Lightning" (ProMusica), “Circle of Blood” (New York Times best selling author David Mack)“Are You Ready to Rock” (Rock n Roll Hall of Fame), and "F#(K Cancer: The Musical" (National recording artist Hamell on Trial). Stacie graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and pursued two years of a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Bachelor of Education in Music Education.
