About the speaker

Sonia Jojiç is a US and Albanian-based photographer, designer, and researcher, since 2018 holding the position of Head of the Department of Art and Design and a full-time Lecturer at POLIS University, Tirana. She holds Master’s degrees in Fine Art and Photography and a PhD in "Branding Methodologies for Sustainable Tourism" from the University of Ferrara, Italy. Jojiç is also an accomplished artist with a strong focus on photography, using it to explore architectural fragments and the built environment, the changing landscape. Her artistic approach often merges her academic expertise with creative expression. She has contributed to international projects related to the art and design field, tourism, and education, including various EU-funded initiatives like BAUHAUS4EU and Circular City Labs. She is involved in mentoring and quality assurance. Since 2012, she has been one of the main organizers of Tirana Architecture Week and Tirana Design Week.
