About the speaker

Siobhan Burger is an art broker, whose ultimate mission is to make fantasies happen. She and her work partner Faye match businesses with the art world, in ways that strategically benefit both sides.

As cultural subsidies were the norm, artists and organisations became increasingly reliant on them in the last decades. This gradually created a gap between the art community and businesses, especially since working with artists is not the most widely chosen path by companies. This is where Siobhan stepped up, to fuel a mentality shift and provide a platform for bridging this gap.

Realizing that the collaboration between these two sectors would redefine what artists can do for businesses and how they communicate to meet each other’s interests, she and Faye Ellen founded Arttenders. This is a company that takes corporate clients’ needs and turns them into artistic challenges. Artists get to exploit the potential of the most dull contexts and unleash their creative fantasy and businesses get an upgrade, through amazingly put together art projects, that leave a unique mark behind.

Siobhan co-founded Arttenders in 2015 and also works as a connector at R’damse Nieuwe. After her BA in Arts and Culture Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, she completed a MA in Museum Studies, at NYU. Last Friday of November, she will tell us more about how common needs can turn into fantasy worlds and how she makes it happen.
