About the speaker
Sarah Lyman is a Houston-based movement artist, specializing in the performance, coaching, and instruction of aerial dance.
After a fulfilling career in both contemporary dance and aerial arts (notably, Houston Grand Opera, Open Dance Project, Cirque Noir, Major Lazer, Drake) she now serves as Aerial Program Director of Hunter Dance Center, providing curriculum development and oversight of pedagogical practices, while sharing the joy of flight with up to 100 students weekly.
Sarah's teaching style is informed by her fascination with the brain-body connection, how we learn to move, and how the inherent risk involved in learning aerial dance provides an ideal platform for self exploration and empowerment.
