Ruthie Lindsey tells her story of brokenness and beauty, of pain and purpose.
About the speaker
Watching beauty spill out of brokenness everywhere she goes, Ruthie is much more than your average designer or stylist. Her optimistic outlook on life paired with a desire to bring people together is evident in each project she takes on. With a knack for charming detail and cultivating beautiful experiences, she can be found anywhere from setting a table to prop-setting a stage to crafting your next set of encouragement cards. She is hardly ever limited when it comes to helping your vision pull on its creative pants and come to life.
If youโve ever wanted to tell your life story through your home but didnโt know how to get the story started, then Ruthie is your girl. Building on her experience mixing treasured antiques and heirlooms with funky reclaimed pieces in her East Nashville home, Ruthie and her distinctive design style have earned multiple mentions on top design blogs including Apartment Therapy and Design Sponge. Sheโs opened her doors to host several Kinfolk workshops as well as a variety dinner gatherings, curated by community culinary projects such as Common Table. Taylor Swift even shot the album art for her latest multi-platinum album, RED, at Ruthieโs house.
Ruthieโs design philosophy goes well beyond simply finding pieces that look beautiful. She believes any space should be a reflection of the people who dwell in it, which is why getting a feel for her clientsโ lives is just as important to her work as finding out their favorite colors. After listening to those stories, Ruthie has the ability to translate what she hears into a timeless design scheme that expresses each clientโs personality beautifully.
Ruthieโs design work spills over into many other areas, including wardrobe styling and jewelry making as well. Her reclaimed vintage jewelry pieces have been sold at Catbird jewelry store in Brooklyn, and Ruthie is increasingly in demand as a stylist at Nashville photo and video shoots.
