About the speaker

Join us for a special lunchtime talk in partnership with CBC Ottawa and the National Arts Centre to bring you music, keynotes and conversations led by CBC Ottawa Host, Robyn Bresnahan. As part of CBC Ottawa’s In Her Words series that was launched on International Women’s Day 2021, this event will explore how transformative change can come from the ripple of simple, small actions.

Everything you do has the power to create its own ripple effect. Like an object breaking the water’s surface, our actions can cause a series of ever-expanding waves of impact stretching far beyond our individual reach. Most of us can easily relate to these words, but our keynote speaker, Wendy Knight Agard, will share insight into the less obvious ways we can have a profound ripple effect and understand the dance between intellect, emotions and igniting our personal power.

Following the keynote, Robyn Bresnahan will lead a conversation with four women who are raising their voices as leaders in business, community and activism. Guests Pearly Pouponneau, Veronica Roy, Sisi Akhigbe and Jace Meyer will share with us how they are each harnessing the power of their own ripple effect to shape a new way forward and create actionable solutions to drive meaningful progress for the next generation.

Welcome Gift: The first 150 to register will receive a special welcome gift, which include; an 8 x10 art print of the 'In Her Words' artwork by artist Emilie Darlington, 40g of tea (20 servings) from Tease Tea and a CreativeMornings Ottawa Pin.
