Ramel “Real” J. Wallace breaks down what it means to go Beyond.

About the speaker

Ramel J. Wallace is the Co-founder of thChrch, a creative incubator and community space in Barrio Logan. Ramel’s roots are as a Hip Hop artist name Real J. Wallace, and he has taken his ability to control the crowd and turned it into an ability to run a business. As a black artist born & raised in San Diego, it is his mission to represent the underrepresented and to speak for the unspoken. Ramel J. Wallace has spoken at USD, UCSD, SDSU, A Reason to Survive (ARTS) and many other nonprofits and institutions about how to use art as a form of social activism and therapy.

His latest release is entitled Aloe Vera, an album that he says is as healing as the plant itself. The project is about grounding yourself to find the best way to grow. In his chase for sustainability Ramel has found fulfillment in both art and community, so he has invested his in things that combine the both. His mission is to become a walking Community Artist and to provide space for artists to create things with and for the community.
