Rachel Young is a freelance graphic designer, traveller, and occasional van-dweller who’s spent the last few years navigating the messy, beautiful reality of creative nomad life.

For Rachel, being a ‘nomad’ has never been just about travel, but a mindset. Since leaving her home in the UK in 2019, she’s moved across the world, worked remotely from a van, taught graphic design in China, and rebuilt her creative career more than once.

Today, she blends her love of design with a passion for helping other creatives navigate the highs, lows, and mindset shifts of freelance life, while inspiring those around her to pursue their own dreams. In this talk, she shares the unfiltered truths of freelancing on the move - from creative burnout to financial uncertainty - along with the mindset tools that can make the journey not just survivable, but meaningful and joyful.
