About the speaker
Rachel Hood has served as the executive director of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council since January of 2007. Ms. Hood shapes evolving strategy for this 45 year old organization, keeping WMEAC and its constituents on the front lines of rapidly evolving environmental policy and programming.
Rachel brings 15 years of experience in fund development, strategic planning, cross sector engagement, program design and management to WMEAC. Her career has focused on implementing sustainable development concepts in Greater Grand Rapids via the nonprofit and health care industries. Rachel studied Social Relations at James Madison College, a residential public policy program at Michigan State University.
Rachel lives with her husband, Dave and their two young children near the banks of the Grand River. She currently serves on boards of the Michigan Environmental Council, Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance and Grand Rapids Community Sustainability Partnership.
