The new Head of HeritageSG, Qazim Karim, shares how festivals can bring about a cultural “Revival” through the 3 R’s.
About the speaker
Qazim Karim is all about bringing culture to life through festivals, places, and people. He heads the Festivals & Precinct Development team at HeritageSG, where he leads the Singapore HeritageFest, Singapore Night Festival, and placemaking in the Bras Basah.Bugis district.
He’s also an adjunct lecturer and career advisor at LASALLE College of the Arts, and for fun, dabbles in lifestyle content creation. In 2023, he was awarded the George Town World Heritage Incorporated Fellowship, and is often invited to speak on placemaking, youth engagement, and creative collaborations.
Qazim loves working at the intersection of heritage, creativity, and community - finding new ways to connect people with the stories around them.
