Canon Headquarter

part of a series on Punk

About the speaker

Christoph Hofbauer, tech-savvy creative director & university lecturer

Chris grew up in a melting pot of various cultures. Born in the south of Austria, he soon recognized the value of crossing borders into neighbouring Italy and Slovenia for a quick change in perspective. He studied MultiMediaArt in Vienna, Salzburg & Barcelona; worked in Amsterdam, Salzburg, New York City and Vienna for clients like Nike, MTV, Pepsi, Red Bull, BMW, MINI, and many more in the fields of design, advertising and digital brand strategy. In addition, he is a lecturer for cross-platform storytelling, content strategy, and design thinking at the University of Applied Sciences FH Salzburg and FH Joanneum Graz.
In his talk, he will explore how a punk attitude can be the spice that adds flavour to professional life – and how to bring back a sense of lightness and ease into the daily grind.

Additional details

Originally, Punk philosophy was all about “just doing it”. Over the decades, the positive aspects of this movement have been somewhat overshadowed and hijacked by mainstream media and weird guys like the so-called “Investment Punk.” (Yup, the nuisance, aka. Gerald Hörhan, we all know from social media.)

It’s time for a renewed plea — to bring a bit more Punk spirit back into our creative lives. So expect 30 minutes of rediscovering an attitude towards life and society.
