Design Is Changing…Again! The field of design has come a long way. From being seen as exclusively specializing in surface aesthetics and trends it has evolved into one of the leading methods for innovation. While traditionally being connected to a specific set of industries, today designers can be found in almost any field. Design Thinking, Design Led Innovation, Human Centered Innovation are just a few labels that are being applied to their work. By looking at my own 20+ years of experience in the industry I would like to take a closer look at how this change unfolded - and where the road might lead to in the future.
About the speaker
As a product designer Philipp has lived and worked 10 years in New York, 10 years in Tokyo - and now is a couple of years into his third adventure here in Munich.
Previous to co-founding The Deep Bench, Philipp has led the design and strategy practices at German design agency designaffairs. Before that he built up and led the design capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region for the innovation company 3M and worked for Panasonic developing products for global markets.
Having studied in New York City, Philipp started his career there, working as a consultant with such clients as OXO, HP, Estée Lauder, Renault, Herman Miller and Coca-Cola.
