Joining us this month on the global theme of ‘Underdog’ we have Melbourne based creative, Suraj Varma who has been involved in bringing bike rickshaws and now South India’s filter coffee Kaapi to Melbourne. Suraj will be chatting about how the theme resonates with starting KAAPI, a few other interesting projects he’s been involved in and how collaboration and offering complementary skills have been instrumental as a way to grow.

Suraj moved to Melbourne in 2009. After completing his Master's Degree in Engineering from RMIT, moving back to India for a couple of years and on returning in 2014 (after working briefly in the Automotive industry)H e co-founded Bike Cabs, a bike rickshaw business offering short fare trips, street art tours around Collingwood & Fitzroy. Through Bike Cabs, he started diversifying his skill sets offering startup consulting to others, finally stepping into the hospitality industry with KAAPI.
