Meteorology hobbyists Will & David use Twitter (with a dash of personality) to inform Nashville of weather threats and help the National Weather Service crowd-source weather data.

About the speaker

Will Minkoff and David Drobny are the guys behind @NashSevereWx and NashSevereWx.com. They provide real-time, hyperlocal (Davidson & Williamson Counties) severe and winter weather information exclusively via Twitter, along with daily weather forecasts at NashSevereWx.com. They’re volunteer social media coordinators for the National Weather Service office in Nashville, which invented the hashtag #tSpotter as a way to collect crowd-sourced weather information and deliver it immediately to NWS forecasters. Will is a Continuity and Preparedness Professional, David is a workers comp defense attorney, but neither is a meteorologist. This is their hobby. They’ll be talking about climate, weather in general, and what they do.
