About the speaker
Shalaco McGee is the creator behind SFinBloom. You may have seen him riding a Onewheel, scattering native wildflowers into bare patches of dirt, dressed like a bee.
He believes it should be fun and easy to make a difference and change the world. He invites you to stop doom scrolling and start bloom scrolling with videos that show the difference one person can make with just a flick of the wrist, planting native wildflowers timed with seasonal precipitation to support beneficial insects.
Frustrated by how confusing something as simple as planting flowers from where you live could be, Shalaco fell down the rabbit hole and came out with SFinBloom. It’s a project that educates, inspires, and provides region-specific wildflower seeds to make ecological impact simple, joyful, and within reach.
As he shares his passion through social media, he has not just learned how to grow flowers but also how to grow ideas and that true growth is not about the accumulating wealth but about circulating wealth.

Mint Manor is a cafe popup in Lower Haight serving specialty coffee, pastries, and bagel to friends and neighbors. As we’ve grown, the pop up has evolved from a creative outlet and passion project into an opportunity to build a space for connection in our neighborhood and collaborate with other community builders.
