Lynnia Shanley

Actor, Movement Coach, Freelance Writer and at Moving Spirit.

San Diego, CA, USA

I’m a movement specialist and enthusiast, an actor, and writer. I have discovered a passion for helping other creatives reconnect with their body. Recently, I have put my focus towards my latest project, Moving Spirit: a look into the creative process with an exploration of the body to engage the art of losing one’s self. Spirit is alive; when we put it into motion, we can transform the energy around us and within us - a coming alive again, a celebration. I am allllll about celebrating life and the goodness we hold within us. I look forward to moving and connecting with you!

About this FieldTrip

Sometimes we feel stuck in the creative process. Sometimes we simply need a new approach to ignite our creativity. Learn how to expand your expressiveness and imagination through a series of fluid movement exercises. The body holds a whole world of wisdom - step out of your comfort zone, break patterns, and embrace the imagination.

We will explore spatial awareness, dimension, rhythm, and qualities of movement to help us develop a detailed and active sense of form in the body and how it is connected to our creative process and storytelling. You will be reawakened and introduced to the concept of inner movement, working with sensation, and images and incorporating them into your craft.

Show up as you are! This will be a fun, expressive, and no-right-or-wrong workshop in a space dedicated to your discovery through movement.

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ Time to Do Nothing: Giving our creative selves precious moments to *be*. A body scan revolving around our breath and the five senses, designed to bring concentration, awareness, and open us up to our creative being.

✔️ Space. Dimensions. Shape: You will be led into a series of fluid exercises

✔️ Reflection 1: Brief moment of reflection through writing to capture any sensations or experiential significance.

✔️ Quality of Movement: Adding the “how” to our movement through inspiration from the 4 Elements.

✔️ Reflection 2 and Sharing: Another moment of reflection to jot down images, feelings, and internal events that occurred. We will take a few moments to share our revelations, discuss, and ask questions.

🎒What To Bring

✔️ No movement experience necessary! Dress comfortably in clothes you can move freely in. Have an ample amount of open space to move freely.
✔️ Bring a journal or notebook and writing utensil for reflection time.

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
