About the speaker

Michael has been the Executive Director of My Possibilities since March of 2010. Having worked several years in the disability nonprofit space, it was an opportunity to move back home and support a small organization with big dreams. He began his career working with the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Corpus Christi and Las Vegas before moving into a program development and fundraising role with Opportunity Village, an organization supporting adults with disabilities in Las Vegas since 1954.

Since joining the organization, My Possibilities has grown from serving 30 adults each week to almost 600 in 2018. Today, the organization offers educational programming, therapy services, job placement services, and respite opportunities on a 20-acre campus developed in Collin County, currently serving over 90 zip codes in North Texas. A recent merger with the LaunchAbility organization established My Possibilities as one of the largest education and job placement organizations for people with disabilities in the State of Texas.

Outside of work, Michael spends most of his time with his family, including his wife Julie who is a local licensed massage therapist, certified personal trainer, and artist. (Husband note: Seriously, she is unbelievable). He has five-year-old twin boys, Jackson & Maxwell who are the most spirited, intelligent, and stubborn children that anybody could ask for. Outside of family time, Michael rebuilds old classic vehicles and can occasionally be found working on his 1968 Datsun.

Michael’s personal goal is to ensure all people with disabilities are provided a path to inclusion and opportunities to live, learn, and grow in their communities.
