About the speaker
Michael is currently Executive Director of the North Saskatchewan River Valley Conservation Society. He also is a board member of NeWest Press and Pro Coro Music Society. On top of that he is working on the 102 Avenue Bike route and the Alley of Light projects in Oliver and Downtown.
He was formerly an Educational Coordinator with the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the University of Alberta, as well as a member of City Council from 1992-2007. He has been active for over 25 years with Edmonton’s Gay/Lesbian (Queer) community, and is one of the founders in 1984 of the AIDS
Network of Edmonton (HIV Edmonton).
