About the speaker
Maria Cotera is a Chicana feminist, author, activist and professor of American Culture and Women's Studies and the Director of Latino Studies, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She initiated the public history project El Museo del Norte in 2009 in collaboration with a coalition of Detroit-based Latina/o arts and culture organizations.
