Marcus Singleton encourages us to look at hip hop as a connector to people and communities. He believes that hip hop is cultural music that helps preserve black culture. He encourages youth to apply critical thinking to hip hop and harness the power of learning and reading to resist ignorance and challenge incorrect norms. He empowers black communities to create change and leads as an example that speaks their language.
